The memory of our reverend father Thomas Maleen
In memory of the 7th of July, the Reverend Thomas, before taking the monastic rank, was in the military service and was known for his wealth and his bravery.

These holy martyrs were of Italian origin and suffered under the reign of Emperor Trajan. 1 When the persecution of Christians began, they boarded a ship and arrived in a city called Dirrachium. 2 While in that city and seeing the holy bishop Astius 3 hanging on a cross and anointed with honey, and how the hornets and flies pitied him, they glorified him for his confession.
