The memory of the 29th of June Brother of the first Apostle Andrew, the holy Apostle Peter, who before being called by the Lord Jesus Christ bore the name of Simon, son of the Jew Jonah of the tribe of Simeon, was from Bethsaida, a small and little known town in Galilee in Palestine. He married the daughter of Aristobulus, the brother of the holy Apostle Barnabas, and had children by her: one son and one daughter.
